Dearest Mrs. and Dr. Paulus!
A lot of work and travel have not allowed me to answer your kind letters in detail until today. I am particularly pleased to receive your last letter because I see that you have continued the meditation work, and I ask you to always keep it that way. You can be assured that you will always receive the necessary information from me at the right time. Because of our esoteric work in Germany, I had to spend the last few days in London here with our spiritual leader, Mrs. Besant, in order to obtain full esoteric authorization from her for everything I do in this field. You can be assured that in the esoteric, every instruction and every piece of advice is given in the most careful way and under the real guidance of the great spiritual leaders of the human race. Do not doubt that sooner or later you will find your way to these guides through meditation work itself. Only someone who has experienced what I have experienced can speak like that. I now ask you to continue meditating on the parts of the “voice” that precede the seven voices in the coming weeks. I will interpret these seven voices under authorization in the next few days and you will then receive a first copy of the interpretation. It will then be of much more value to you than if I had given it to you 14 days ago without full authorization. Because my esoteric work has only received the full consecration in the last few days.
Now I turn to your questions, dear Doctor. If I were not an esoteric and did not live a spiritual life, I might say: Your questions in Stuttgart and later by letter surprised me. But through the qualities mentioned, I was fully prepared for the realization of your deep psychological insight. I can only tell you: you have good psychic gifts and a beautiful precondition for both spiritual knowledge and for working in the physical world from the spiritual planes. What you experience simply shows that you have contact with the spiritual powers of the world, and your whole nature shows again that you are called to apply these spiritual gifts in a noble way to help people. Among other things, you repeatedly asked me who I was. The time will come when we can talk about it. But today I will only tell you that I have reason to believe that you did me a great service in an earlier life. Don't misunderstand me. Of course, errors cannot be ruled out in spiritual observations either. But I am not a person who lives in illusions. In the spiritual fields, I am one of those people who are called cautious and also 'sober'. That is why I can speak of justified belief. In my earlier life, centuries ago, a personality played a role in my life that snatched me from a certain family sphere and opened up the paths for me that were necessary for my former profession, a Catholic priest. Those were times when the church had not yet completely fallen into disrepair as it has today. At that time, you showed the lack of prejudice that still appears to me today as so great in you. At that time, you probably also created the conditions for your present life. These are suggestions that I ask you to take as critically as possible; but I can only tell you that I consider them fully justified. If what I say seems plausible to you, it will also be clear to you that you are called to psychic life. Do not be frightened by this predisposition. We must regard such gifts as a sanctuary; we must live with them as intimately as we live with the tables and persons in our physical environment. We must accept them objectively, and our self-confidence, our “I”, must always remain intact and at our core.
We must never allow ourselves to be enslaved by such influences. They are given to us; but never with the intention of overwhelming us. Whatever may come, hold fast to the principle that all the powers of the world, physical as well as spiritual, are there in the present epoch of the world's development for the purpose of helping man to fulfill his mission here on this earth as a free, self-conscious, thinking, self-supporting being. The spiritual powers and influences are only meant to guide him to find the right way here. And today woman in particular is called upon to find and assert her self. Everything that happens in this field will contribute to the welfare of mankind.

Verehrteste Frau und Herr Doktor!
Vielfache Arbeit und Reisen haben es mir bis heute nicht möglich gemacht, Ihre lieben Briefe ausführlich zu beantworten. Ihr letztes Schreiben ist mir besonders lieb, denn ich sehe, daß Sie die Meditationsarbeit fortgesetzt haben, und das bitte ich immer so zu halten. Sie können versichert sein, daß Sie zur rechten Zeit immer von mir das Nötige erhalten. Ich mußte gerade wegen unserer esoterischen Arbeit in Deutschland die letzten Tage in London hier bei unserem spirituellen Oberhaupte Mrs. Besant zubringen, um von ihr volle esoterische Autorisation für alles zu erlangen, was ich auf diesem Felde tue. Denn Sie können versichert sein, daß im Esoterischen jede Anweisung, jeder Rat in der allersorgfältigsten Weise und unter wirklicher Leitung der großen spirituellen Führer des Menschengeschlechtes gegeben werden. Zweifeln Sie nicht, daß Sie über kurz oder lang durch die Meditationsarbeit selbst den Weg zu diesen Führern finden werden. Wer erlebt hat, was ich erlebt habe, der darf so sprechen. Ich bitte Sie nun, auch noch in den nächsten Wochen die Teile der «Stimme» zu meditieren, welche den sieben Stimmen vorangehen. Ich werde unter Autorisation in den nächsten Tagen diese sieben Stimmen interpretieren und Sie erhalten dann ein erstes Exemplar der Interpretation. Es wird dann noch viel mehr Wert für Sie haben, als wenn ich es Ihnen vor 14 Tagen noch ohne volle Autorisation gegeben hätte. Denn mein esoterisches Wirken hat erst in den letzten Tagen noch die volle Weihe erhalten.
Nun wende ich mich zu Ihren Fragen, liebe Frau Doktor. Wäre ich nicht Esoteriker und stünde ich nicht im spirituellen Leben, so würde ich vielleicht sagen: Ihre Fragen in Stuttgart und später die brieflichen haben mich überrascht. Aber durch die genannten Eigenschaften war ich für die Erkenntnis Ihres tiefen psychologischen Blickes voll vorbereitet. Ich kann Ihnen nur sagen: Sie haben gute psychische Gaben und eine schöne Vorbedingung sowohl zur spirituellen Erkenntnis wie auch zum Wirken in der physischen Welt von den spirituellen Plänen aus. Was Sie erleben, zeigt einfach, daß Sie Verbindung haben mit den spirituellen Mächten der Welt, und Ihre ganze Art zeigt wieder, daß Sie berufen sind, diese geistigen Gaben in edler Art zur Hilfe für die Menschen anzuwenden. Sie fragten mich u.a. wiederholt, wer ich sei. Es wird wohl auch die Zeit kommen, in der wir darüber sprechen können. Doch heute will ich Ihnen nur sagen, daß ich Berechtigung zu dem Glauben habe: Sie haben mir selbst in einem früheren Leben einmal einen recht großen Dienst geleistet. Mißverstehen Sie mich nicht. Irrtümer sind natürlich auch bei spirituellen Beobachtungen nicht ausgeschlossen. Ich bin aber kein Mensch, der in Illusionen lebt. Ich bin auf den spirituellen Feldern einer derjenigen, die man vorsichtig, und wohl auch «nüchtern» nennt. Deshalb darf ich von berechtigtem Glauben sprechen. Es hat in meinem früheren Leben vor Jahrhunderten eine Persönlichkeit die Rolle gespielt, daß sie mich einer gewissen Familiensphäre entriß und mir die Wege damals möglich machte, die zu meinem damaligen Berufe, einem katholischen Priester, nötig waren. Es waren Zeiten, in denen die Kirche noch nicht ganz verfallen war wie heute. Sie bewiesen damals die Vorurteilslosigkeit, die mir auch heute so groß an Ihnen erscheint. Sie haben sich damals wohl auch die Bedingungen zu Ihrem heutigen Leben geschaffen. Das sind Andeutungen, die ich Sie bitte so kritisch wie möglich aufzunehmen; aber ich kann Ihnen nur sagen, daß ich sie mit Grund für vollberechtigt halte. Es wird Ihnen, wenn Ihnen plausibel erscheint, was ich sage, auch klar sein, daß Sie zu psychischem Leben berufen sind. Erschrecken Sie vor dieser Veranlagung nicht. Solche Gaben müssen wir als ein Heiligtum betrachten; wir müssen mit ihm leben, so vertraut, wie wir mit den Tischen und Personen unserer physischen Umgebung leben. Wir müssen sie ganz objektiv hinnehmen, und unser Selbstbewußtsein, unser «Ich» stets intakt und als festen Mittelpunkt erhalten.
Niemals dürfen wir uns unfrei machen lassen von solchen Einflüssen. Sie sind uns geschenkt; aber niemals mit der Absicht, uns zu überwältigen. Was auch kommen mag, halten Sie fest an dem Grundsatz: alle Mächte der Welt, physische wie geistige, sind in der gegenwärtigen Entwickelungsepoche der Welt dazu da, daß der Mensch als freies, selbstbewußtes, denkendes, auf sich selbst gestütztes Wesen zunächst hier auf dieser Erde seine Aufgabe erfülle. Die geistigen Mächte und Einflüsse sollen ihn nur leiten, hier die rechten Wege zu finden. Und insbesondere ist heute die Frau berufen, ihr Selbst zu finden und geltend zu machen. Alles, was auf diesem Gebiete geschieht, wird zum Heile der Menschheit beitragen.
